
Primary Bilingual Immersion
The Academy’s bilingual program actively supports bilingualism and biculturalism in its students. Immersion instruction in two languages and the promotion of positive cross-cultural attitudes aim to achieve this, as demonstrated by our high levels of academic achievement.
In the primary grades, a greater percentage of instructional time is spent in Chinese (Putonghua) so that students gain a solid Chinese language foundation. By Grade 3, there is a greater emphasis on English language instruction, which will carry through into the Secondary School.
The proportion of the languages of instruction in the Primary School is as follows:
